Entry:

$5 venue
$5 to enter Doubles tournament (goes directly to Doubles prize pool)
$5 to enter Singles tournament (goes directly to Singles prize pool)

Time:

Doubles tournament start: 5:30 pm
Singles tournament start: 7:00 pm

Dates: 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14 (doubles points), 11/21 (double points)

Rewards

Each night, the doubles and singles tournament will be competing for a prize pool based on the number of entrants ($5 per player).

Players that place in the top 8 each night of the singles tournament will also earn points that count towards their Season 4 rank.

We will go through the following list to break a tie between players:

Match History

The result of the most recent match between the tied players will break the tie.

Most Recent Placement

If the players have no match history then it will go to most recent placement in the same bracket.
If they have not been in the same bracket, then we will look at each player’s most recent bracket, first look at placement, and then if necessary break the tie by the size of each bracket (with a larger bracket being worth more).

Here is a breakdown of the Season 4 rewards:

3rd Place - $75, Choice of standard Esports Arena apparel item, 10 in-store free hours

2nd Place - $125, Choice of standard Esports Arena apparel item, 10 in-store free hours

1st Place - $300, Custom Esports Arena Jersey, Choice of standard Esports Arena apparel item, 10 in-store free hours.

Points accumulate over the 8 week period, and are awarded each league night.

Tournament Format & Rules

Standard double elimination bracket play Best 2 out of 3 games for preliminary matches. Best 3 out of 5 games for winners, losers, and grand finals. If there are 4 players or less, round robin format will be used instead of bracket play.

First stage is decided by (Rock Paper Scissors) best of 1. Winner may strike a stage first. Stages are struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
After game 1, stages are decided by the winner striking two stages from all stages and then loser choosing.
Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before
loser selects character.

Esports Arena Oakland no longer does Super Smash Thursdays. They do however have Smash tournaments on Wednesday and Friday nights. If you are looking for a Smash tournament on Thursday in the area, Esports Arena Roseville is the closest location.
